Children are gifts from God. As parents, we have the special role and privilege of training them in the ways of the Lord—equipping them to fulfill their purpose in the earth. Everything we do is teaching our children something, and the greatest opportunity we have is to impart a deeper understanding of faith. It is doing what God has called you to do in your work, family, school, relationships, and more as you navigate different life stages. When it comes to being like Him, it’s our responsibility to help people make the connection between the life we live and the God we serve. Jesus has called us to reconcile people to Him and not repel them from Him. They won’t know the Good News of His love, peace, and joy unless we tell them. God will be with us as we go. Before Jesus left the earth, He set an expectation for His followers to live according to His example. When we represent Christ well, we give others the opportunity to experience His true nature and draw closer to Him. Compassion is one of the characteristics that attracts people to God. It is looking beyond our own needs to see the needs of others, learning to value them above ourselves. Let’s begin to engage the world with hearts of compassion and demonstrate the love of the Father to everyone we encounter.
