Your Prayers Are Precious to God

by James Meeks
Prayer takes things out of our hands and puts them into the hands of God. It shows that we have faith in someone bigger than we are, that we are no longer leaning on our own understanding. If the devil wants to keep us from doing one thing, it’s praying. That’s how precious your prayers are to God! Every word you’ve ever prayed is in His hands. Your Father hears you. Don’t stop praying!
Sermon Notes

Revelation 8:3 KJV
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

Revelation 5:8 KJV
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

The Precious Prayers of the Church:

Satan does not want you to pray.

Satan does not want you to know how valuable your prayers are to God.

1. Revelation 8:1-4
2. Revelation 5:8

1. There are prayers that are answered right away.

Isaiah 38:1-5 KJV
In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, and said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

Those are the prayers we like.

2. There are prayers that have timing issues.
3. There are prayers where God has something better in store for us.
