Sermon Notes
Hosea 4:6 NLT
My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since
you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my
priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to
bless your children.
Why We Should Be Obsessed:
- The Word helps us stay pure.
Psalm 119:9 NLT
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NLT
Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom
of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or
who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or
practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or
drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit
the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were
cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by
calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our
God.
2 Timothy 2:19-22 NLT
But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this
inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong
to the Lord must turn away from evil.” In a wealthy home some
utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood
and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and
the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you
will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and
you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. Run
from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous
living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of
those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. - The Word gives direction.
Psalm 119:105 NLT
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
Colossians 3:23-24 NLT
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for
the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you
an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is
Christ.
