Launching Into Your Calling

by Johnson Bowie
You exist to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. That’s called purpose! Your calling is how you uniquely use your gifts, passions and story in different seasons of life. It is doing what God has called you to do in your work, family, school, relationships, and more as you navigate different life stages. God wants to launch you into your calling, to partner with you to release them into the world for His glory!
Sermon Notes

What is my Purpose?

My purpose is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.

Exodus 3:2-5 NASB
The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed. So Moses said, “I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up.” When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”

Exodus 3:9-10 NASB
“Now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them. Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.”

Exodus 3:11 NASB
But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”

Exodus 4:1 NASB
Then Moses said, “What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say?”

Exodus 4:10 NASB
Then Moses said to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

Exodus 4:2 NASB
The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” And he said, “A staff.”

How to Launch into My Calling?

  1. Embrace MY Gift

Comparison can kill your calling.

How to Launch into My Calling?

  • Embrace my GOD

God isn’t looking for MARTYRS; God is looking for PARTNERS!

Joshua 1:9 NIV
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Exodus 14:13-14 NIV

Exodus 14:15-17 NIV
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to MOVE ON. • Embrace my GO

JUST DO SOMETHING!

“We can be in our day what the heroes of the faith were in their day—but remember, at the time, they didn’t know they were heroes.” — A.W. Tozer

The worst feeling in the world is “What if? What if I had done it?”
