House of Community
Genesis 2:18 NKJ
…”It is not good that man should be alone…”
Acts 2:41-47 NIV
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three
thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted
themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the
breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the
many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers
were together and had everything in common. They sold property and
possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they
continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in
their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising
God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to
their number daily those who were being saved.
Mark 4:19 NIV
…but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the
desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it
unfruitful.
Acts 2:42 NIV
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Proverbs 13:20 MSG
Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch
your life fall to pieces.
“There is nothing more unchristian than a solitary Christian.” – John

What Happens in True Community:
- In real Biblical community, people are AUTHENTIC with each other
and are LOVED anyway.
Genesis 3:10 NIV
…”I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked;
so I hid.”
James 5:16 NIV
…confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you
may be healed… - In real Biblical community, people are CHANGED.
The Four Reasons the Enthusiasts Formed:
- Because we are ignorant and short-sighted, and often unable to
discern things that are excellent. But God reveals to one what is good
for another so that in a multitude of counselors there is wisdom. - Because we are lovers of ourselves, unwilling to see our own
errors; therefore, unlikely to fix them. Whereas our friends will, with a
meek and impartial spirit, show us our faults. - Because we are weak and irresolute, and let go our integrity upon
any opposition. But a band of friends who are like-minded inspire us
with courage and confidence. - Because we are lukewarm in religious duties, but a holy fellowship
will kindle and keep alive a holy fire.
- In real Biblical community, people become FAMILY.
Matthew 12:48-50 NIV
He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”
Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my
brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my
brother and sister and mother.” - In real Biblical community, people know how to PARTY!
