A Mind Made New

Romans 12:2(ESV) –  “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Jesus doesn’t want you to experience short term freedom, but a lifetime of freedom in partnership with HIM.

Stronghold  – An unwanted, repeated pattern of destructive thinking and behavior.

Galations 5:1(AMP)

It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].

How do we stay free?

Genesis 3:1-5 (ESV)

Now the serpent was more crafty, than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.  He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘Youshall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden,but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.  For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Once a person is deceived, they don’t recognize that they are deceived, because they’ve been deceived.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5(NLT)

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
