The Vision of Victory

by Johnson Bowie
Scripture tells us that without vision, we perish. When we don’t know where we’re going, it’s easy to drift—losing direction and purpose along the way. In this message, we’re diving into God’s vision for every believer and how it comes to life through our church family here at Victory. Whether you’ve called Victory home for decades or you’re just discovering it, you’ll hear the heart behind our local church and how God may be inviting you to co-labor with Jesus in a fresh way.
Sermon Notes

3 Kinds of Churches
1. Churches that don’t change
2. Churches that change with the world
3. Churches that change the world

“Why does the Church exist?”
89% of the congregation said, “To meet my family’s needs”
90% of pastors said, “To win the world to Jesus!”

Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

VICTORY is a place and a people who are dedicated to the MISSION and guided by the VISION God has given this church.

Acts 1:8 NIV
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

What’s the VISION of Victory?
1. (Jerusalem) To Build Strong Families

Luke 18:27 NIV
“What is impossible with MAN is possible with GOD.”

What’s the VISION of Victory?
1. (Jerusalem) To Build Strong Families
2. (Judea) To Transform the Community

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.
― Charles H. Spurgeon

What’s the VISION of Victory?
1. (Jerusalem) To Build Strong Families
2. (Judea) To Transform the Community
3. (Samaria) To Reconcile Cultures

John 17:22-23 NIV
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be ONE as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete UNITY. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Revelation 7:9 NIV
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.

What’s the VISION of Victory?
1. (Jerusalem) To Build Strong Families
2. (Judea) To Transform the Community
