Greater Works

Haggai 2:5-9 NKJV
“’According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came
out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’ For thus
says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake
heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations,
and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this
temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the
gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple
shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this
place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
John 14:10-12 NLT
“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me
does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and
the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have
seen me do. I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the
same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am
going to be with the Father.”

1. We have the greater glory.
   John 17:20-22 NKJV
   “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in
   Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are
   in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world
   may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I
   have given them, that they may be one just as We are one …”
   The Church is God’s full measure in the earth.
   Ephesians 1:22-23 NKJV
   And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over
   all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who
   fills all in all.
   We have the full measure of the message.
   We have the full measure of the ministry.
2. We have the greater power.
   We have the full measure of God’s power.
   John 14:12 NLT
   “… and even greater works, because I am going to be with the
   Father.”
   Acts 1:8 NKJV
   “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon
   you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
   and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
   9 Fruit of the Spirit (indwelling)
   Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV
   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness,
   goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control …
   9 Gifts of the Spirit (outpouring)
   1 Corinthians 12:7-11 NKJV
   The word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healings,
   working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of
   tongues, interpretation of tongues
   9 fruit of the Spirit (indwelling) and 9 gifts of the Spirit (outpouring)
3. Receive the greater One.
   We have the full measure of God’s Spirit.
   1 John 4:4 NKJV
   You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He
   who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
   The most important message to the unbeliever is Jesus; however,
   after you receive Jesus, the most important message to the believer
   is the Holy Spirit!
   Luke 3:16 NKJV
   … “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming,
   whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you
   with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
   Acts 1:4-5 NLT
   … he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father
   sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. John baptized
   with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the
   Holy Spirit.”
   What is the promise?
   You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit!
   Jude 1:20-21 NKJV
   But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith,
   praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking
   for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
   You ask for Him.
   Acts 10:45-46 NLT
   The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift
   of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too. For they
   heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God.
   Acts 11:15-17 NLT
   “As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them,
   just as he fell on us at the beginning. Then I thought of the Lord’s
   words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be
   baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ And since God gave these Gentiles
   the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus
   Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?”
   1 John 5:7-8 NKJV
   For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word,
   and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that
   bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these
   three agree as one.
   1 Corinthians 14:2 NASB
   For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God;
   for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.
   1 Corinthians 14:14-15 NASB
   For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
   What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray
   with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the
   mind also.
   Luke 11:9-13 NKJV
   “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will
   find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks
   receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be
   opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he
   give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent
   instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a
   scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your
   children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy
   Spirit to those who ask Him!”
