YOU have a huge opportunity to bless the world in this season! GENESIS 12:1-3 NIV Then the Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s household, and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will BLESS you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a BLESSING. I will BLESS those who BLESS you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be BLESSED through you.” It’s our JOB and our JOY to bless the world! “God, who do You want me to be a blessing to so they can see You?” LUKE 5:4-7 NIV … he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. 1 CORINTHIANS 16:9 MSG A huge door of opportunity for good work has opened up here. MATTHEW 5:13-16 NIV “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” How Do We Bless the World Around Us?
  1. Be a blessing PHYSICALLY. ACTS 11:27-30 MSG It was about this same time that some prophets came to Antioch from Jerusalem. One of them named Agabus stood up one day and, prompted by the Spirit, warned that a severe famine was about to devastate the country. (The famine eventually came during the rule of Claudius.) So, the disciples decided that each of them would send whatever they could to their fellow Christians in Judea to help out. They sent Barnabas and Saul to deliver the collection to the leaders in Jerusalem. Being a blessing physically might look like: • Sending groceries through Amazon or Instacart • Delivering meals/picking up prescriptions for those shut-in • Buying a little extra to offer to your neighbors • HOA post to encourage and connect with your neighbors • Shopping to stock your local co-op and bringing donations to Victory 2 CORINTHIANS 8:12-15 TPT For if the intention and desire are there, the size of the gift doesn’t matter. Your gift is fully acceptable to God according to what you have, not what you don’t have. I’m not saying this in order to ease someone else’s load by overloading you, but as a matter of fair balance. Your surplus could meet their need, and their abundance may one day meet your need. This equal sharing of abundance will mean a fair balance. As it is written: The one who gathered much didn’t have too much, and the one who gathered little didn’t have too little.
  2. Be a blessing EMOTIONALLY. 2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-4 MSG All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. Being a blessing emotionally might look like: • Sending text messages, making phone calls or sending cards • Sending a video message • Inviting people into community—text JOINGROUP to 203040 (message and data rates may apply) “God, who do You want me to be a blessing to so they can see You?”
  3. Be a blessing SPIRITUALLY. Do we have something better? There is one thing that Christians alone can do … OFFER LIFE. Being a blessing spiritually might look like: • Asking people via text, phone or social media if they need prayer • Inviting people to church online, specifically Easter Blessing the world isn’t always about doing something extraordinary; it’s about doing something. “God, who do You want me to be a blessing to so they can see You?” NUMBERS 6:22-27 NIV The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: ”The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’ So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
