Transitioning from Old to New
Typical Pattern of People Who Don’t Really Know God:
• Know Yourself
• Find Fame
• Discover a Platform
• Make a Dollar
Proverbs 29:18 NIV
Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is
the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.
Proverbs 29:18 MSG
If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over
themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most
blessed.
Matthew 7:21-23 NIV
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of
heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in
heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not
prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in
your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I
NEVER KNEW YOU. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
Christianity has no power to change your life until it moves from a
religion to a relationship!

How to Make the Transition from Old to New:
- Allow yourself to fall in love with God.
Matthew 22:35-37 NLT
One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this
question: “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the
law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “’YOU MUST LOVE THE LORD YOUR
GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ALL YOUR SOUL, AND ALL YOUR
MIND.’”
Revelation 2:4-5 NLT
“But I have this complaint against you. YOU DON’T LOVE ME OR
EACH OTHER AS YOU DID AT FIRST! Look how far you have
fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t
repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among
the churches.
All sin is in our lives is loving something more than God! - Lose your life to find your life.
Matthew 10:37-39 NLT
“If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not
worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than
me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you refuse to take up your
cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you cling to
your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will
find it.”
The secret to finding your real purpose in life is found in your
willingness to lose your life! - Embrace a new life of walking by faith.
Mark 9:23 CEV
Jesus replied, “Why do you say ‘if you can’? ANYTHING IS
POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS FAITH!”
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to
God must believe that HE IS, and that HE IS A REWARDER OF
THOSE WHO DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM.
