If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for
the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next.
It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world
that they have become so ineffective in this.
– C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
2 John 8 NKJ
Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for,
but that we may receive a full reward.
2 Corinthians 5:8 NKJ
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body
and to be present with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:9 NKJ
Therefore we make it our aim (goal), whether present or absent, to be
well pleasing to Him.
2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJ
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each
one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he
has done, whether good or bad.
Judgment (krima): a decision resulting from an investigation
1 Corinthians 4:5 NLT
So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the
Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will
reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever
praise is due.
Hebrews 6:1-2 NKJ
Not laying again the foundation of…eternal judgments (decisions).
What we do with the cross determines where we will spend eternity.
The way we live as believers determines how we will spend eternity.
James 4:14 NKJ
What is your life? It is even a vapor.
What we do in this zero time determines how we will spend eternity!
Ephesians 4:12 NLT
Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build
up the church, the body of Christ.
The Believer’s Judgment:

  1. Our involvement in building the Kingdom of God
  2. How we built individual lives.
    1 Corinthians 3:13 NLT
On the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder
has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value.
    1 Corinthians 3:14 NLT
If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward.
    1 Corinthians 3:15 NLT
But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The
builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a
    wall of flames.
    1 Corinthians 9:24 AMP
So run your race that you may lay hold of the prize and make it yours.
    Ephesians 2:10 NKJ
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Psalm 139:16 NLT – “Prepared beforehand”
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in
your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had
    passed.
    Ecclesiastes 3:15 NKJ – “Should”
    That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been;
and God requires an account of what is past.
You will not be judged according to what you did, but according to
what you were called to do!
    2 Peter 1:10-11 NLT
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are
among those God has called and chosen…then God will give you a
grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior
    Jesus Christ.
    Take Away Points:
    • You will stand before Jesus in judgment.
    • Is it better to know and prepare for this now or later?
    • How you live now will determine your quality of life for eternity.
    • In regard to your calling: You will not be judged by what you did,
rather by what you were called to do.
    • Don’t take lightly what you’ve been called to do.
    Hebrews 6:1-2 NKJ
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of
Christ, let us go on to perfection (maturity), not laying again the
    foundation of…eternal judgment.
