1st Gear – The Notice 

2 Corinthians 6:14 NIV
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

Run toward Jesus & grab the hand of the person running next to you.

Questions to answer in the 1st Phase:
* Are they a kidult? 
* As much as I can see, do they love Jesus? 
* As much as I know about them, are we headed in the same direction? 

5 Gears
1st Gear – The Notice
2nd Gear – Friends Who Like Each Other          

Jeremiah 17:9 
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Questions to answer in the 2nd Phase:
* Are they correctable?
* Do we have a similar life mission?  
* Do we connect? 
* As much as I can see, do they love Jesus?

Proverbs 4:23 NLT
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Connection – The degree of physical & emotional connection
Commitment – The degree of expressed dedication to the relationship

Where we get in trouble is when our CONNECTION outpaces our COMMITMENT.

Questions to answer in the 3rd Phase:
* How’s our passion for Jesus? 
* Are they submitted to authority?
* How does he treat the waiter? 
* Can I see myself marrying them?

4th Gear – Engagement

Questions to answer in the 4th Phase:
* Is he ready to lead & she ready to come under his covering?
* How’s the money?
* What’s the family outlook?
* What are the sex expectations?
* What’s the extended family situation?
