Sermon Notes
Psalm 103:1-5 NLT
Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole
heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am
praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things
he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals
all my diseases. He redeems me from death and
crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills
my life with good things. My youth is renewed like
the eagle’s!
Deuteronomy 34:7 NLT
Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his
eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever.
Hebrews 11:1 NKJ
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen.
Why We Believe God Is Our Healer:
- Because it is His Name
Exodus 15:25-26 NIV
Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord
showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the
water, and the water became sweet. There the
Lord made a decree and a law for them, and there
he tested them. He said, “If you listen carefully to
the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right
in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands
and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any
of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am
the Lord, who heals you.”
Acts 3:16 NKJ
“And His name, through faith in His name, has
made this man strong, whom you see and know.
Yes, the faith which comes
through Him has given him this perfect soundness
in the presence of you all.” - Because it is His Will
Matthew 8:2-3 NLT
Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and
knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are
willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”
Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,”
he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy
disappeared. - Because it is His Mission
Acts 10:38 NKJ
…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing
good and healing all who were oppressed by the
devil, for God was with Him.
John 10:10 NKJ
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to
kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may
have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly.”
Luke 13:16 NKJ
“So ought not this woman, being a daughter of
Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for
eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the
Sabbath?” - Because it is His Promise
Isaiah 53:5 NKJ
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He
was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for
our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we
are healed.
1 Peter 2:24 NKJ
…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the
tree, that we,
having died to sins, might live for righteousness—
by whose stripes you were healed.
Matthew 8:14-17 NLT
When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s
mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. But
when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her.
Then she got up and prepared a meal for him. That
evening many demon-possessed people were
brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a
simple command, and he healed all the sick. This
fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet
Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and
removed our diseases.”
Mark 5:25-34 NLT
A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve
years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a
great deal from many doctors, and over the years
she had spent everything she had to pay them, but
she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten
worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came
up behind him through the crowd and touched his
robe. For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch
his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding
stopped, and she could feel in her body that she
had been healed of her terrible condition. Jesus
realized at once that healing power had gone out
from him, so he turned around in the crowd and
asked, “Who touched my robe?” His disciples said
to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you.
How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’” But he kept
on looking around to see who had done it. Then
the frightened woman, trembling at the realization
of what had happened to her, came and fell to her
knees in front of him and told him what she had
done. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has
made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is
over.”
