The Path to a Glorious Life
John 12:19-28 NIV
So the Pharisees said to one another, “See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!” Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. “Sir,” they said, “we would like to see Jesus.” Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus. Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”
Four Hard Things
- We DIE to self.
- We HATE our lives in this world.
- We follow Jesus to the CROSS.
- We become SERVANTS.
Four Glorious Things
- We bear MUCH fruit.
- We keep our lives for ETERNAL LIFE.
- We join Jesus in GLORY.
- The Father HONORS us.
Living for Jesus is not EASY, but it is GLORIOUS!

- I Die to the OLD Life.
John 12:24-25 NIV
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and DIES, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who HATES their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
Matthew 16:24-26 NIV
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and TAKE UP THEIR CROSS and FOLLOW ME. For whoever wants to SAVE their life will lose it, but whoever LOSES their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”

Jesus didn't just save you FROM something; He saved you FOR something.

Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for FEAR they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved HUMAN praise more than praise from GOD.
