Sermon Notes

Psalm 23 NKJ
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down
in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores
my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s
sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I
will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they
comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my
enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely
goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will
dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalm 23:5 NKJ
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You
anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
FAVOR: the unmerited blessing of God; to give special regard to; to
show exceptional treatment and goodwill far beyond what would
normally be expected
Three Areas That Produce the Majority of FEAR in Our Lives:

  1. Fear in our FINANCES
  2. Fear in our SECURITY
  3. Fear in our HEALTH
    Psalm 30:5a NIV
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his FAVOR lasts a lifetime…

The Secret to Living in God’s Favor:

  1. THE REVELATION OF GOD’S PROVISION
    Psalm 25:12-14 NLT
Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they
should choose. They will live in prosperity, and their children will
inherit the land. The LORD is a friend to those who fear him. He
    teaches them his covenant.
    Psalm 37:18-19 NLT
Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive
an inheritance that lasts forever. They will not be disgraced in hard
times; even in famine they will have more than enough.
    Psalm 112:1-3 NKJ
Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,
Who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be
mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth
and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures
    forever.
    Psalm 37:25 NKJ
I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.
    Deuteronomy 28:1-14 NKJ
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of
the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which
I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above
all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you
and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:
Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the
country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your
ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and
the offspring of your flocks. Blessed shall be your basket and your
kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and
blessed shall you be when you go out. The LORD will cause your
enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they
shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and
in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land
which the LORD your God is giving you. The LORD will establish you
as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep
the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.
Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the
name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you. And the LORD will
grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of
your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which
the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. The LORD will open to you
His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its
season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to
many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the LORD will make you
the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be
beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God,
which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. So you
shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this
day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
  2. THE REVELATION OF GOD’S PROTECTION
    Psalm 91 NKJ
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge
and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver
you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He
shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take
refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be
afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of
the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays
waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten
thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with
your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because
you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High,
your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague
come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over
you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you
up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the
lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample
underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will
deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in
trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy
him, and show him My salvation.”
  3. THE REVELATION OF GOD’S HEALING
    Psalm 103:1-5 NKJ
Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy
name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who
redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with
lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with
good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
    Isaiah 53:4-5 NKJ
Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we
esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our
iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His
    stripes we are healed.
    Psalm 41:1-3 NLT
Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues
them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps
them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them
from their enemies. The LORD nurses them when they are sick and
    restores them to health.
