Victory @ Hamilton Mill Overview

For a while now, the Lord has placed it upon our hearts to grow Victory, not by building bigger facilities here in our Norcross location, but by reaching out into our neighboring communities to plant satellite campuses. As you know, we've been prayerfully considering all of our options and have, for quite a while, felt like the Mall of Georgia area would be a great location because we have so many families who reside in that area – approximately 1,200 people. Throughout this process, we've looked at many facilities, talked with many other pastors and waited on God to open the right door at the right time. This is that time...

Introducing..... Victory @ Hamilton Mill

Victory @ Hamilton Mill is located at what is currently Destiny Church. Pastors Tad & Jenny Savoy and Phillip & Vivian Carter, along with their Board of Directors, have decided to join with us to form our new Hamilton Mill campus. This campus provides a great location right off of I85 at the Hamilton Mill exit, making it easily accessible from the Lawrenceville/Suwanee area, Mall of Georgia, Hamilton Mill and areas north of exit 115.

Victory @ Hamilton Mill FAQs

How did this come about?

Pastors Phillip & Vivian are former members of Victory World Church and friends of Pastors Dennis & Colleen. Victory has played a major role in Destiny for years, with Pastor Dennis serving as a member of their Board of Directors.  As we've prayed about our next phase of growth through satellites, Destiny's leadership has also been praying about the next phase of growth for their congregation. Over the past year, Destiny has participated with us in many events, even in sermon series. A great friendship gave birth to a wonderful church partnership, which is now transitioning into a joining of hearts and visions. We couldn't be more excited about welcoming Destiny Church to the Victory Family!

Who will the Senior Pastor be?

As a Victory satellite, the senior pastors will be Pastors Dennis and Colleen. There will be a Campus Pastor at the Hamilton Mill location that will be responsible for day-to-day ministry, counseling, leadership development, etc.

Who will the Campus Pastor be?

Pastors Johnson & Summer Bowie, our current Fusion Young Adult Pastors, will be taking the role of Victory @ Hamilton Mill Campus Pastors. Johnson & Summer are fantastic pastors with a heart to shepherd, direct and disciple people into greater relationship with Jesus Christ. Our leadership team and Board of Directors are confident that they are God's choice for this new campus. We are very excited to watch them move into this new season of ministry.

What will happen with the current Pastors at Destiny?

The Pastors of Destiny will remain on staff and shift to other pastoral roles, which are still being discussed.

Who will the Fusion Young Adult Pastor be?

For the foreseeable future, Johnson and Summer will maintain dual roles as our Hamilton Mill Campus Pastors and Fusion Young Adult Pastors.

Will the style of ministry be the same?

Initially, as we transition from Destiny Church to Victory @ Hamilton Mill, there will be some differences (i.e. service times, specific ministries, etc.). However, Victory World Church is one church, with one pastoral staff, one leadership team, one vision and one style of ministry. We will duplicate all of that in our Hamilton Mill location. We're simply one church in multiple locations.

How will the preaching/teaching be handled?

Victory @ Hamilton Mill will follow the same sermon topics as Victory Atlanta, beginning with our GREEN Series (about financial stewardship) that starts the first weekend of August. Messages will be delivered utilizing both live teaching and video messages:

  • DVDs from the Victory Atlanta Saturday night service will be shown on Sunday morning at Hamilton Mill. Allowing the Hamilton Mill congregation to experience the same teaching as the Atlanta campus.
  • The Campus Pastor will deliver live messages occasionally – following the same series topics as the Atlanta campus.
  • From time to time, the Campus Pastor and Pastor Dennis may switch places for a weekend to allow the Hamilton Mill congregation an opportunity to interact with our Senior Pastors.
Why do we need to have a satellite church?

About two years ago, as a leadership team, we had to discuss the reality of the rapid growth of our Atlanta campus. With our numbers growing, a decision had to be made on expanding our current facility, purchasing a new facility or finding other ways to continue to handle the increase God was sending. After reviewing the options, we decided the best option is a satellite church model: one church, multiple locations. Using this model has many advantages, such as:

  • Costs: Building onto existing facilities to accommodate growth creates a heavy financial burden. Using a satellite model, we are able to quickly launch a church within a community with a low initial cash outlay, giving the location time to grow in order to support itself. Using existing facilities is always cheaper than building something new.
  • Proximity: A satellite model puts Victory right in the midst of people's communities and increases the likelihood for new visitors from those communities who wouldn't travel into Atlanta for church. People like to go to church near their home. This enables them to experience the ministry of Victory – our values, vision and style – minutes from their home.
  • Engagement: More locations mean more opportunities for ministry, enabling more people to engage and utilize their spiritual gifts.
  • Evangelism: Moving into other communities allows us to spread the gospel throughout Metro Atlanta and the surrounding region. Simply put, we can reach more people if we go to where they are.
How will we refer to our current location?

The current Victory World Church location will become our "Victory Atlanta" location – operating as the central hub for all future satellite campuses, starting with Hamilton Mill.
We will refer to the Hamilton Mill campus as Victory @ Hamilton Mill.

If I live in the Hamilton Mill area, how soon can I start attending Victory @ Hamilton Mill?

As we are only at the beginning of this transition process, and due to the limited seating currently available at the facility, we are asking everyone to hold off for a few weeks, at least. We will be holding a Victory @ Hamilton Mill interest meeting in the coming weeks for all interested families. During this meeting, we will share details of the transition and open up leadership and volunteer opportunities for Hamilton Mill.

What about the youth and children's ministries?

Ultimately, we will duplicate both the VicKids and 212° ministries at the Hamilton Mill location. In fact, 212° @ Hamilton Mill is already meeting on Wednesdays at 7pm. Our VicKids leadership team is currently working to develop and tailor their ministry to this location and the specific details will be communicated in greater detail over the coming weeks.

Will we be reducing our services at the Atlanta campus?

As of right now, there are no plans to reduce the number of services at the Victory Atlanta campus.
