If you're interested in getting baptized, or just curious, you're on the right track. Baptism literally means to be immersed in water. It is a physical act of conscious obedience by which a person identifies himself or herself with Jesus' death, burial and resurrection; symbolizes the death of his or her old self and resurrection to a new life in Christ; and publically declares his or her faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Historically and biblically speaking, it is not something to be taken lightly.
So, we've produced a small booklet, entitled Dive into Jesus through which we hope to answer questions like, "What is baptism?" and, "Why do we do it?" In addition to some basic teaching, this Dive into Jesus also contains FAQs, a guide to getting baptized here at Victory World Church and a convenient tear-out registration form. (You may download this booklet in PDF form here or pick up the printed version at the Connect Centers in our lobbies.)
If you'd like to get baptized, you'll need to read Dive into Jesus. Once you've read the booklet, you may register online by clicking the link below, or by printing and filling out the Water Baptism Registration Form found at the back of the booklet. Please note: If you register using the printed form (i.e., not online), you will need to:
- Contact Banae Honeycutt at the church office by 5pm on Wednesday prior to the weekend in which you'd like to be baptized to reserve your spot. Be prepared to indicate during which service you'd like to be baptized: Saturday @ 6pm or Sunday @ 8:30am, 10:30am or 12:30pm.
- Bring the completed form with you on the day of your baptism.
- Those wishing to be baptized should arrive at least 30 minutes before the service is scheduled to begin.
