There was a time I was very bad in handling the money God entrusted to me. I was dishonest, deceitful, did not honor the Lord or my obligations, and was very self-centered in seeking the world's pleasures. It all came to a crashing end in 1994, when I finally lost everything - all my possessions, cars, home, and savings. I owed more money than I could count to more people than I knew. I was flat broke!

It was then that I had an encounter with the Lord. Through reading His Word, prayer, Godly counsel, and taking the Larry Burkett Financial Ministry Course(predecessor to Crown Biblical Financial Study), I was able to change direction and start living a life free of dishonesty and deceit. I saw myself as being a steward and not an owner. I took on an attitude of following the teachings of Christ in handling money. Through steady plodding I was able to pay off all my debts (except my current home), build a savings and, most importantly, become a generous giver.

The Lord took a mess of a person like me and made a productive person so that today, He is able to use me as a Christian Budget Coach and Crown Class Facilitator here at Victory. - Charles Phillips
