During the 2007 Christmas Season, as part of iCare, we joined with other churches in an Advent Conspiracy, a global movement to restore the impact of Christmas. We challenged ourselves to replace the usual overspending of Christmas with generous, Christ-centered giving, knowing that this kind of giving could radically change our families, our communities and our world.

In this Advent Conspiracy, we committed to make a difference in the worldwide need for clean water. According to the World Water Council, 1.1 billion people live without an adequate source of clean drinking water. Every day, 3,900 children die from water born diseases. In response to this problem, we earmarked 100% of our 2007 Christmas Gift to the World offering for clean water projects around the world.

We were so pleased to report that over $250,000 was given, and that it is already at work in places like:
